It's an OK hotel in a good location. The rate was 38,000 yen for a 34m2 room, so fairly inexpensive for a hotel in a good location in Ginza. There is nothing special about the hotel, and nothing bad. The room was a good size, clean and functional. The staff is friendly and helpful. What I didn't like was that they only offer a cleaning service every other day. They'll bring new towels but that's it. If you don't mind paying a bit more, the Grand Bach and Mitsui Garden Gochome nearby are better.

Nice, clean hotel with really lovely, friendly reception staff. The rooms are very small especially for two travelling adults with a fair amount of luggage. There are free toiletries available by the lifts which is a really nice and welcomed gesture. Our only disappointment was the restaurant wasn’t open in the evening for two nights whilst we were there. Dining is difficult in Ginza if you don’t know the area and impossible if you don’t have a reservation. Great base whilst visiting Tokyo.

Well, the rooms are small still makes up for in many ways. It is cleaned and convenient too many attractions in the area. The area is large and contains a separate tub. Like all Japanese hotels, the water is forceful and very hot. Could not be the price and the location. I would stay here again.

First time staying in Ginza

I normally stay in Shinjuku but wasn't able to get my regular hotel so based on a friend's recommendation, I stayed at the Solaria. It was a good experience. The location is great. You're at least one or two blocks from any main street so its quiet at night. It's one block away from the Higashi Ginza Station stop or two blocks away from the Ginza Station stop. The difference between Shinjuku and Ginza is that there are a lot of steps at the Ginza Stations while the Shinjuku station has escalators and elevators. Because I have arthritis in my knees, going up and down stairs could get painful at the end of a long day of shopping. There is lots of shopping in the Ginza area including the Muji flagship store that had lots of snacks to choose from. Next door to the Solaria is the ramen shop Ippudo. It was great ramen, especially on a cold night. The hotel does not have washer/dryers unlike the Shinjuku hotel I usually stay at. The ice machines in Solaria are only on the 3rd and 13th floor. At Solaria, they clean the rooms every other day. On the off days, they will hang a bag of towels and two bottled waters on the door which was fine. You can pick up any amenities you need such as face cleansers, q-tips, washcloths, etc. in the lobby. The hotel staff at Solaria hotel was very nice and efficient. I think on my next trip I will spend half my time in a Shinjuku hotel and half the time at Solaria.
